Who we are
We are a reformed baptist church and a member of the Association of Grace Baptist Churches (South East). Our Chapel has served Lewisham for more than 150 years.
-
We are a Bible believing church that gains its inspiration from scripture. We believe in justification through faith in Christ alone, God’s sovereignty, the divinity, humanity and resurrection of Christ and that all of us are sinners and will face God’s judgement. We regularly celebrate the Lord’s Supper and encourage all believers to be baptised by immersion.
-
College Park Baptist Chapel is located near the centre of Lewisham.
Lewisham Railway and DLR is about a 10 minute walk away. The nearest bus stops are in Lewisham High Street, about 5 minutes away.
There is a large car park next to the church, but it is no longer free on Sunday mornings.
-
We welcome a diverse community to services each Sunday morning and evening. A prayer meeting and Bible study session is held each Thursday evening. We host a Sunday Special (Sunday School) for children. We have a monthly social evening - 242 Club- and a monthly Men’s Breakfast and Ladies’ Brunch to encourage fellowship and bible study.
Our Pastor and leadership team
Our Pastor, Steve Whitton, joined us in July 2022 after completing his training in Harrow.
Steve is a native South Londoner being brought up and living in Southwark for most of his life.
He now leads the Church full time, supported by his wife Keeley and flanked by their three wonderful children.
Alongside the Pastor, the Church's cogs remain well oiled and in perpetual motion through the efforts of Bob Evans, our Deacon, and our three dedicated trustees: Genny, Margaret and Win.
